Macdonald Willowwood Brooch

Sterling silver brooch with gold plate accents, set with Iolite and peridot. Handmade art nouveau brooch inspired by the Gesso panels by Margaret Macdonald, wife of Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

Paula's Comments: "The first time I visited Kelvingrove Museum in Glasgow, I was transfixed by the series of painted hessian Gesso panels by Margaret Macdonald. The title of the panel, Willowwood, is taken from a sonnet by Dante Gabriel Rossetti and was commissioned by Miss Kate Cranston for the Salon de Luxe, Willow Tea Rooms, which also provided an inspiration for another design of mine."
