BEHIND THE DESIGN

The Inspiration

The Urushi collection takes its name from the tree, which provides Japanese lacquer of the highest quality. I have used resin framed in copper and highlighted with silver instead of the traditional ivory. Many years ago, I inherited a beautiful Japanese lacquer which incorporates these delicate blossoms, and it is from this that I took my inspiration.
