BEHIND THE DESIGN

The Inspiration

In 2014, The Courtauld Gallery asked me to design some new jewellery pieces inspired by Josef Hoffmann for their exhibition and the Vienna Collection was born. Hoffmann was one of the founders of the Vienna Secession movement, and his original architectural and jewellery designs have since provided me with endless inspiration.

I used the same form of panels of gilded and rods of plain silver, which he often employed, but I set them with lapis lazuli, blue moonstone, and turquoise.
